Onza is a name which will have any mountain biker with a few decades of service under their belts regaling stories of white Porcupine tyres and legendary April Fool spoof tread patterns like the Octopus. Back then Onza held an iconic status with mountain bikers and no Spin wheel or Tioga Disc drive was complete until it was wrapped with Onza rubber and a skin sidewall. After those early days the Onza factory fell silent and the wheels stopped turning until five years ago when a Swiss based team brought new life back to the brand and pushed it back to the forefront of mountain biking backed by over a decade of rubber experience.
Now the company is back doing what it does best; producing tyres which riders want to use and that perform to the highest level. Named after animals, localities and regions in Switzerland the new range has performance at its heart once again. Tyres like the ultra grippy Ibex, fast rolling Canis or wet weather Greina can already be found on EWS enduro machines or World Cup DH bikes backed up by glowing media reviews around the globe.
A tyre is only as good as its compound and construction and Onza knows this. As a result they partnered with rubber development lab, VISCO, to develop an all new rubber perfect for performing at the highest level and gripping in the harshest conditions. They then set about working on constructing the perfect enduro casing creating a Tubeless Ready, 60TPI, lightweight but strong sidewall perfect for the roughest of stages.
